COST: $10-25 per class

These classes will move participants from the floor and into explorations beyond lying, including sitting, all fours, standing, kneeling, and perhaps some inversions. COST: $60-150 sliding scale for the full series. $10-25 drop-in per class

These classes will focus on taking participants out of a vertical relationship to gravity, allowing you to restore and reorganize yourself lying down on your back and side, and perhaps front. Lesson content will involve subtler and smaller movements and movement sequences to create a sense of calm for your nervous system. There will be one new restorative lesson each week taught on Wednesday morning and repeated on Saturday morning. Drop-ins welcome!

***ALL Feldenkrais Awareness-Through-Movement classes encourage self-exploration, comfort, and moving at a pace that is good for you regardless of the type of positions or movement sequences involved. As such, either of the series above can be appropriate and fruitful for anyone’s learning process. If you are unsure which class series might be good for you, let’s discuss!***

WHAT TO EXPECT AT A FELDENKRAIS CLASS

ATM class most often takes place lying down, but occasionally in sitting or standing. I provide verbal proposals and guide learners as they move. There is a strong emphasis on moving slowly, easily, and staying within the range of personal comfort so that you can refine your sense of what you are doing and how you are doing it. ATM is perhaps different from other movement classes in that its goals are not about stretching, strengthening, relaxing, meditating, or imitating. Instead lessons are designed to engage your curiosity in yourself and to refine your innate powers of awareness.
